Student Profiles
It is important to consider a child's strengths, interests, needs/challenges, learning style and strategies/support that have worked in the past whenever considering the child's placement in the general education classroom. Below are examples of profiles available to use:
• Student Profile Form
The simple, one-page form provided here is the one which NJCIE uses when problem-solving placement in general education classrooms with parent-school teams.

• Positive Student Profile
This tool enables family and/or school personnel to create a one-page profile which highlights important information about a student, such as characteristics, strengths, supports needed and long term goals. Included are a blank document and example.

This tool can be used to identify information by family and/or school personnel to highlight a student's strengths and challenges, barriers to participation and tools and strategies for supports. Included are instructions, a blank form and examples for reading and math subject areas.
